Dr. John P. Pacanowski is a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at Pima Vascular in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Pacanowski graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1990 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology/ Genetics and Developmental Biology. He then attended and competed his medical degree at St. George’s University in Grenada Dr. Pacanowski finished his surgical internship and residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he also concluded his Vascular Fellowship in 2003. He is an associate professor of Clinical Surgery at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center and the Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Tucson Medical Center.

Dr. Pacanowski is an accomplished research scholar receiving many academic awards including the Endovascular Fellow’s Research Award in 2002 and 2003, as well as the Southern Association of Vascular Surgery Founders Award in 2003. He is the author of numerous journal publications and has co-authored several text book chapters.

Dr. Pacanowski is certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General and Vascular Surgery and has advanced qualifications in Endovascular surgical procedures. He is a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, International Society of Endovascular Specialists and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Luis Leon is a Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon at Pima Vascular in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Leon obtained his medical degree in 1996 from Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University. He received surgical training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and San Joaquin General Hospital in California from 1997 to 2003. Dr. Leon also completed a Vascular and Endovascular Fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago in 2005 and has been a Registered Vascular Technologist since 2004. Dr. Leon served as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Tucson from 2005 until 2008. He currently serves as an active member of the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Section at Tucson Medical Center and at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Dr. Leon also holds an Associate Professor of Surgery degree at the University of Arizona, tenure-eligible.

Dr. Leon has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and 10 book chapters. He serves as a reviewer for specialty journals including the Journal of Vascular Surgery and Annals of Vascular Surgery and is a member of the Editorial Board of The Journal of Vascular Surgery. Dr. Leon has received numerous awards including the Charles C Guthrie Award from the Midwestern Vascular Surgery Society in 2004 and the very prestigious E.J. Wylie Traveling Fellowship Award from the American Vascular Association in 2007.

Dr. Leon is certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General and Vascular Surgery and became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2008. Dr. Leon is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the International Society for Vascular Surgery, the Chicago Area Vascular Association and the Peruvian American Medical Society.
